ABOUT
This year we will be focusing on the theme of Dark Romantics. This will involve a PBL (Project Based Lerning) activity focusing on evil in our world. Another project in the second semester will follow a similar theme but focused more towards human emotion and how it can affect us all differently. Along with reading and writing this year we will also focus on your future with writing college admissions essays, and focusing on a College and Career readiness unit during the fourth quarter.
Dark Romanitcs
The Beginning
​
The Beginning of Evil can be traced back to before man walked the Earth. It is the focus of the Quarter to understand the creation and concept of why people commit Evil acts. We will be reading Paradise Lost, Genesis, Dante's Inferno and Othello. We will also complete a PBL project- Evil as I see it.
The Obsessed
​
Continuing our PBL we will also be focusing on the ones who become a bit obsessed with their loved ones with readings like Macbeth. How far is too far to reach your goal? We will also be starting a new PBL project focusing on a chosen trait.
The Darkness
​
The new focus of the quarter will be the toxic relationships we see in literature and our own worlds. We will be in Literature Circle groups with novels like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Phantom of the Opera and more. We will also be reading short stories and finishing out PBL on your chosen traits. .
The Future
​
We will be starting our Company projects and become prepared for the world ahead with practice on interviewing, resumes, letter formatting and so much more.
